Menorca??? Anyone been and know where's nice or of any alternatives

DD will be 2 in Sept and we would like to take her on a bucket and spade holiday! Thought of Menorca as everyone says it is a really nice family place, but am very open to other suggestions.

Want to rent a villa and invite friends/family so we don't need childcare, tbh after looking into it all the places that offer childcare clubs are not really the type of places we want to go (ie biggish hotels in busy places) so we are not bothering with that.

What I really would like is recommendation for a nice quietish place with a lovely safe beach with nice restaurants (NOT of the full english breakfast/burger variety!).

Cala Galdana is meant to have lovely beaches. Hope it's nice as we are going there in June.

a lot fot her est are english related but all have kids play areas and high chairs and stuff

Also, I am looking at places on the web and they don't seem to have the pools fenced in like they have to in France - anyone know if it they have just removed fences for photos or if they just don't have to do it there?

sb34 it looks lovely and that beach looks just perfect, but it isn't big enough We need at least 3 pref 4 beds as are inviting a series of friends over

Do you know if they have bigger private villas with their own pools?
