went here today and had a great time despite the weather - looked a right fool eating a 99 as the hail stones fell!

fantastic price - paid £3 for car park and only ice cream costs on top. Activities for 2yrs till at least 13/14yr olds.

if you want to go - follow signs for the rec ground / cricket ground parking, opp side of river to the town.

only downside was no coffee available.

the butterfly farm was good too though expensive for time spent in there. DD1 (3) loved it, esp. touching the butterflies and the millipedes

We go here too for a really cheapie day out - feed the ducks, look at all the narrowboats in the basin, get messy in the sand/water area, have fun in the outdoor play area, paddle in the outdoor pool, play ball games and have a picnic in the park. And I don't buy icecreams because I'm a cheapskate!

Have you ever watched the (free) entertainment on the park opposite the theatre - we've seen Punch and Judy, other puppet shows, magicians, fire-eaters and so on.

And all for the cost of a car park ticket!!
