Planning on going here with kids, DH and MIL and would like to go somewhere for lunch before. Thought we would get to the tube to Notting Hill and walk from there so anywhere on that sort of route. I know there is a cafe there but wanted something a bit more substantial than sandwiches. Any ideas ....

The cafe there does lovely pizza too...

We were there a couple if weeks ago, walked from Nottinghill Gate tube to the park, can't remember seeing many eateries sorry.

Also... We went on a Sunday, they were queuing to get into the park by 1pm..

We ate at Whiteleys which is about a 5 minute walk away and has a few different restaurants.

We went last year on a nice and sunny day. We never went in as there was an enormous queue and they only let a certain amount of people in.

Better be there in the morning first thing and go to lunch afterwards.

carry on south through the park (past the Palace) towards Ken High Street. The Orangery in the park is lovely. Just outside the park on KHS is a Giraffe, also a mexican place. Stick & Bowl cheap & cheery chinese food. otherwise WHolefoods - buffet style so you can get all sorts (on a tray). Carluccio's just off the High St.

We took our own - cafe' is very pricey and not that great.
Whiteleys not far away.

Thank you for this thread!!
I have just been googling and really would like to spend a day in the park this summer with the boys.

we would have to drive.. any recommendations on parking?

there's a car park in Hyde park by the serpentine £££ otherwise for relatively local all day parking, try the Homebase car park on Warwick Road at the other end of KenHigh st & take teh 9 or 10 bus up the High St - the stop is right in front of your nose at teh end of Warwick Rd.
