Hi, following more surgery we have just had 7 weeks of misery, hopefully now on the mend! The trio have Mon 1st July off of school and we would love to take advantage and have a w/end away. Could go Frid 28th Jun -Mon 1st July. Center Parcs would be good but so expensive, feel sure my money could go further...............2 adults-3 x`s 15yr olds and budget of £500. Any ideas please? No more than 3 hours drive from Dover...........or we can travel by train! TYIA!!

Haven, Butlins etc everyone should go at least once.

tungthai · 12/06/2013 09:39

Sandy Balls in the New Forest. A bit like CP but cheaper and lots to do in the area.

mummymeister · 12/06/2013 10:43

we stay here in east Cornwall with our teenagers because they love the swimming pool. takes about an hour from Exeter so could be do able for you. they give 10% off if you come by train apparently but we always drive. hope you find something.

Charleymouse · 12/06/2013 12:42

Triplets know what you mean re CP. But my kids love it there. If you can persuade kids to just meander and swim then can be done quite cheaply once there.
If it is any use to you I can use my rebook offer and get you some vouchers for that weekend.
come back soon

Elveden has only one villa available at £599 though, let me know if you fancy this and I will send you through the relevant info. Have also sent you message on here.

Sorry to hear H has been ill again. Big Hugs.
Cheers CM

Hello Charleymouse:) How are you? Thank you for thinking of me but its still a lot of money just for a w/end, I wouldnt mind if it was for the midweek break. Also dh saw the consultant today and they have decided not to offer any further surgery to remove the blood clot, its been draining for 7 weeks now and could take several more. So he sadly wouldnt be able to use the pool with the kids which he loves doing. Must be something we could do...............

OP posts:
Charleymouse · 13/06/2013 12:26

Oh dear Triplets, hopefully the clot will go ASAP. Not really sure of many ideas to be honest, my kids always steamroller us to CP. Grin

What about a few nights in a hotel?

triplets · 13/06/2013 22:35

I thought about that Charlie, had a quick look, not sure where, London is obvious I suppose, trouble is we need two rooms!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 13/06/2013 22:38

Can you get a deal on a Travelodge in London? We've booked two rooms for a few days in the summer and two rooms there were cheaper than one room elsewhere.

Fingers crossed you find something.

triplets · 13/06/2013 22:53

I am just looking at TL and PI :)

I've seen a nice cottage in Whitstable. Will try to find a link.

gallicgirl · 13/06/2013 23:04

Can't find the exact one but the Whitstable cottage company has lots of nice properties and prices are around your budget.

Might not sound /isnt luxurious but my teen of 15 LOVED glamping with 'featherdown farms' theyre all over the place, very very relaxing/interesting/ last min bargains available / we cooked a little, even that was a novelty on a very easy to use woodburning stove, he swam in the lake, thought the workings of the farm really 'cool' and has asked to go back several times! We slept like logs - sooothed by country sounds - was honestly fantastic.... It was impossible NOT to relax

singaporefling · 14/06/2013 00:04

PS : they DO have some last min offers, but if they don't show on their website, you can ring/email the farm directly and ask... I know it sounds like a kiddy thing, but really there were all ages there and it was all so 'novel' for us
...

triplets · 14/06/2013 00:07

would they sleep 5?

OP posts:
singaporefling · 14/06/2013 00:14

I just had a quick look at their website, they sleep up to 6! Double bed/bunk beds and a sort of cabin bed ( bit of a squeeze that one but 5 comfortably)... There seem to be a few with availability for 3 nite wkends, wbsites bit of a pain, you seem to have to check each farm individually, cant just put your dates in - its as lovely as the brochure i think... We stayed at shadymoor in shropshire, the farmer cooked venison stew for us one night, all the kids staying made their own pizzas in the woodfired forest oven - it was bliss! Am sure there'll be farms near you and some have frills like their own hot tubs... And we've never had a full english we loved so much, i even wanted a wood burning stove when i came home ! We lit lanterns, wandered to nearby villages and my xbox mad teen son LOVED feeding babymilk to the bleating lambs! Am so excited thinking about it i want to go again!

singaporefling · 14/06/2013 00:24

Been looking for you... Avail LOCKS but itS isle of wight - that feasible ? OR Mount Pleasant £455 for 3 nights on your dates... Tosave you looking, these were NOT avail (unless they get canx) : malting/ lunsford/sunny something no.9 / canfields / manor / midgham...i'll try a few more - IF you like the idea :)

singaporefling · 14/06/2013 00:28

Also knaveswell dorset - close- ish to you £499 - good luck !

Charleymouse · 14/06/2013 15:30

Shameless bumping for you Triplets.

triplets · 14/06/2013 22:40

Thanks Charley guess everyones busy! Been looking all day, not a lot grabs me, its so diff to find something to suit everyone. Just realized too that dds period is due that w/end and so she wouldnt be able to use the pool if we did go to CP, have to think of these things now! Dh and the boys are not very understanding, but its a shame for her. Last summer we managed a week in Sherwood Forest,a lodge with a hot tub, yep, her period arrived...........she sulked the whole week and complained there was nothing there but trees!!

OP posts:
triplets · 14/06/2013 22:42

Don't think Featherdown would be right for us, we are really 5 adults size wise and it looks like hard work for me............a hotel break would be nice:)

Just booked CP next w/end, got a cancellation on a 3 bed lodge, bit more than I wanted to pay but at least I know everyone enjoys it there!
