theme parks for big kids who don't go upside down...

Just wonering if there are many theme parks out there that are not just "BIG" headliner rides....

We enjoy the Drayton Manor Park type theme parks - loads of kids rides, some mild thrill ones, but don't "do" the wet rides or big twisty/drop/scary rides. The fresh doughnuts are great too....

Does Alton towers/Chessington/Thorpe park/wherever else cater for folks like us??

Paulton Park near Southampton. And Legoland would both fit the bill, as would Oakwood in South Wales.

Blackpool pleasure beach has lots of old fashioned roller coasters and Flamingo land is nice . Disneyland Paris sounds ideal for you .

Not Thorpe Park! Chessington would be okay though.

LOL Floralnomad you have us pegged! Disney is sooooooooooooooooooo us! Have been to DLRParis 3 times now (and Florida twice) I guess we want some of that magic - but closer to home...

Haven't been for a few years but hope to go this summer - Chessington. Lots of stuff for younger kids and those who are not looking for upsidedown.

Gullivers?? There are 3 of them. Google to see where your nearest is.

ValiaH · 03/06/2013 10:30

Alton Towers is good- I also don't do upside down and there was loads to go on.

MadeOfStarDust · 03/06/2013 10:32

So Chessington seems like one to explore - Gullivers a bit far for a day out, but looks good for an overnighter..

Legoland we have tried - but have to go in school hols or weekends and the queues there were just horrendous - that is why we keep going back to Drayton Manor - you get on the rides so much more quickly....
