Best London musical for 5 and 7 year olds?

They both love Roald Dahl books, so Charlie and The Chocolate Factory or Matilda would be good, but I've heard that The Lion King is great too.

Any thoughts or other recommendations?

Charlie! Apparently Matilda is for slightly older children. Lion King is great too, but you can see that anytime, whereas Charlie is the new new thing.

Have you seen it? That would be my first choice, the only thing putting me off is that the age guide is 7+. The other 2 are recommended for 6+ so there's not a huge difference.

We saw Charlie last week with boys 10, 8 & 6 - was good fun and the kids really enjoyed it - it's a good spectacle. There were kids from as young as 5 there if not younger.

We saw Matilda last year which is vastly superior in my opinion - just so well written. We bought the cd and must have listened to it about a thousand times by now! I didn't take my then-5-yr old with me as he wasn't great at sitting still for a long time then but now he's desperate to see it.

Haven't seen The Lion King but everyone says it's great.

Thanks.

We did decide that Charlie was the one of choice. Unfortunately by the time we firmed up our trip, there were no tickets left for the Saturday matinee so we've decided to give going to the theatre a miss this time.

This will be their first trip to London, so hopefully they'll have fun and want to go again some time!
