Hi, we are off to visit family next week in Stirlingshire. We have 3 boys aged 10, 8 and 4. Can anyone please recommend some good days out to keep them busy?
All ideas much appreciated x

New Lanark is well worth a visit and would also recommend a day in Edinburgh. Leave car near Inverleith Park- feed swans,go to play park then up to the Botanics for lunch.
In the pm you could walk up to Princes St then up the Mound to the Castle.

Stirling Castle. Lots do do, plenty of space for boys to let off steam, decent coffee shop and great views.

Definitely Stirling Castle; the Old Town Jail tour in Stirling is also good (and slightly scary) for kids; Blair Drummond Safari Park is good as is Briarlands which is next door to it (please google); If you want to head west to the Trossachs go to David Marshall Lodge for walks through the forestry and lunch at the café.
Glasgow and Edinburgh both very easy on the train and always worth a visit.

Bit belated but just wanted to thank you for your ideas, much appreciated. Those we didn't do we can store for next year as we go every year. Kids love Edinburgh, normally go on the train and time our visit with the festival. This year we were so lucky with the weather so did Loch Lomond Shores, picnic at Luss, hours stone skimming down the Glen Caron and did The Time Capsule water world bit on the one day it rained. Have done Stirling Castle quite a few times but will deffo do the jail next year, kids will love that!
Thanks again :)
