I want to take ds to Disneyland but if we're going I want some time in Paris as well.

If we go would it be a major ball ache to stay in Paris (near gare de Lyon or Chatelet) and get the rer to Disneyland every day? Thinking it would also save me from themed rooms

No I don't think it would, although I don't know how far away the area you are thinking of staying at is from Disneyland.
The trains are frequent, and as you are staying off site you can plan your day, eg go from lunchtime and stay for the evening parade. You will need to check the time of the last train though as the parade doesn't end until around midnight and it can take a while to get out of the park.

We went last August and DD struggled when we went into Paris as it was so hot, so is probably best to go into Paris early morning.

Thanks - Chatelet and gare de Lyon are the main stations to get the rer to Disneyland.
