Going to Cumbria for our summer hol this year with 4yo and 1yo. Looking for stuff to keep the children entertained.

Any other suggestions?

We went there a few years ago when DD was 2. We enjoyed it, she didn't really know what it was all about.

It's not very 'theme-parky', its quaint and interesting. I understand they've introduced some interactive bits recently.

We spent about 1.5 hrs there.

We're going back this summer and have booked to have tea with peter rabbit!

Oooh tea with Peter Rabbit! Just looked that up on the website. DD would love that.

Go on the Ravenglass-eskdale railway. It's so pretty, and it's narrow gauge, so little trains. We used to go there as kids and loved it!

I've been with a group of year 1 children. It was nice... Not amazing... It depends if they're into looking at things rather than doing IYSWIM. If you're already there though, you might as well visit. Definately go to Brockhole visitor centre though, there's a massive adventure playground, horse riding, you can go down to the lake, have a picnic/ lunch in the cafe. Ds (nearly 4) loves it there.
