Ds2, 13 in June, wants to go and stay with an old friend of mine & his family in Spain for a couple of weeks in the summer.

He has never flown. Only been abroad once to Germany by coach. BA have a skyflyers solo service, but it says for children aged 6-11. Can I still use this service for a 13 year old? I hope so otherwise he can't go!

Have you called ba to ask? Do any other airlines which offer unaccompanied minors service do the same route? Could get a sky nanny but they are expensive and more for younger ones .Be a shame he he can't go so hopefully there is a solution?

No I haven't called yet - just wondered if anyone knew! Can't believe he wants to go - I was such a coward at that age.

I don't know what the scheme/service is called but a relative's 14 yr old recently flew solo with BA to Hong Kong. A stewardess picked him up at Check In and handed him off to the cabin staff.
