London Science Museum - do's and donts, hints and tips please

we are going soon for a visit. Just wondering on your top tips for the visit

Don't go in the holidays!

Take a picnic.

take lots of water to drink.

Work out what you want to see - do that bit first.

Expect it will take you at least twice as long as you anticipate so plan to do half as much as you think.

Wear comfy shoes.
Wear layers of clothes you can remove.

Take a hipflask. You will want to gouge out your eyes by the end of the day - esp if during school holidays

Other people will be in your way/under your feet/ block the view of your children. You will also be 'other people'

Keep smiling and people around you.

We are going on a Friday in a few weeks not holidays here until end of May (taking DD out of school ) so hoping no hols

What date are going, its school hols here before the end of may

If you want to go into The Launch Pad, go early. Even on quiet days it gets very busy. Show the DCs the information desk in the middle and tell them that's where to go if they lose sight of you (very easyto do in that bit).

Do go upstairs to the history of medicine - fascinating and usually not too busy. Don't miss the Flight Gallery either.

Bring your own food.

Don't wear too many clothes, it gets really hot in there! Take plenty of drink. Anticipate some bits taking ages, I also second seeing the medicine bit its great.
