Coach tours in France/Italy?
florenceuk · 22/01/2002 20:08
My parents are coming over from NZ, and were wondering about doing a coach tour - they are not good at independent travel, and like the idea of something very organised. They are in their sixties. I want to avoid the really downmarket tours, friendly and interesting company in the same age group a bonus (ie not tours for young backpackers or tours of Disneyland Paris). Anybody have any recommendations?

My mother-in-law (also from NZ) went a trip with Trafalgar IIRC. She did it alone when she was in her mid-50s and came over for our wedding. She took a six week trip IIRC through Europe, came home and took another round the UK - only a couple of weeks that time though.
Since she was travelling solo she had to share a room. She didn't mention it being full of backpckers (and this definitely wouldn't have been her scene!) although I had always associated Trafalgar with bakcpackers since they seemed to advertise such a lot in TNT, etc.
She met some nice people and some not so easy to get on with people.
Sorry can't get you any more details as she sadly died a couple of years ago. But I am pretty certain it was Trafalgar.
