I just went to halfords to buy Joey's new seat and the woman there went out to check my belts, then advised me on the right one for the car, she also fitted it.

tht.

we had an s reg fiesta and had the jane rebel. Might be worth a try? Not sure what you mean by carry seats, I thought all first stage car seats were carry types.

i mean i dont want the type of seat that fits onto the travel systems, i want one that stays in the car, who makes the jane rebel? have tried halfords, babies r us and mothercare today with no luck

jane makes it. it does fit on a travel system too, but you can buy it on it's own and it's no different to any other infant car seat. They all rear facing and tend to be carrycot style. \link{http://www.lullabys.co.uk/shop/erol.html#1033x0&&http%3A%252F%252Fwww.google.co.uk%252Fsearch%3Fhl%3Den%26q%3Djane+rebel%26meta%3D\here}

You can get new belts fitted to your car for around £20 - a small investment as if you get that Britax First Class seat (which is fab!) you will be using it until little one is at least 3.5 years! Phone your local garage type place or car accessories shop and they may know someone who does it!

On the seats like J and R's Mummy linked to doesn't the seat belt go through the back? It should use less length than an ordinary person would use sitting in it. Isn't it only the carry ones you don't want that need yards of belt to around the whole thing? I'm not disputing what you are saying btw, I'm just confused Grin
