Like Puerto Pollensa but with good weather in October

We're looking for a family friendly resort for a week on the beach in early Oct. Last year we went to Puerto Pollensa in Majorca and the year before L'Escala on the Costa Brava and both suited us very well.

Basically we like to hire an apartment fairly close to the town centre and the beach so we don't need to hire a car and then spend a week pottering around. We have previously been away in early Sept but can't go until later this year so the weather might be a bit unreliable in Spain/balearics.

Any suggestions?

Canaries will be warm. I would suggest Cyprus but not perhaps at present.

Not sure which resort to recommend that would be as nice as Puerto Pollensa but we had really nice weather in the Algarve in the October holidays before.

Hi, both the canaries and the Algarve are on my list. Don't really like the idea of the Canaries but don't know why, not based on anything much. We loved PP but would like to try somewhere new. Just inhibited by the fear that our precious week away won't be as good!
