St Andrews? Is it B&B you're looking for, or a hotel?

Edinburgh's good, although the castle and some touristy things are on a hill, so maybe not buggy friendly.

I got engaged at Loch Lomond we stayed at "the lodge on loch lomond" it was lovely but this was 9 yrs ago. We also went skiing and stayed at somewhere called the old pines restaurant with rooms near spey? Spaen bridge (I will try and find it)it was lovely and seemed very child friendly.

Lodge on the Loch is still there and is very beautiful. Would thoroughly recommend Crieff Hydro if have baby - can choose to stay in hotel or variety of self catering with full use of hotel facilities. Loads of nice scenery around and child friendly activities.

What kind of holiday are you looking for? Type of accomadation, Facilities required, what daytrips/ activities are you looking for?

everything is baby friendly if you want it to be, and nothing is if you are not will ing to compromise.

whenever i get stressed, i remember that my grandmother went on 8 day train journeys with three kids under four, on her own,

We just got back from a long weekend in Portlogan (Dumfries and Galloway.) Beautiful place nice beach but no shops a small post office. Lots of cows and birds. Have you thought about renting a house then you can take with you all your bits and pieces that you may need for the baby.

Hi

Been to several really good places in Scotland that are excellent for kids(am an exiled scot in England)

Hilton Colyumbridge in Aviemore is brill and often has cheap deals..family rooms..special tea for children(great choice), kids activities in holidays, funhouse adjoining hotel with huge indoor fun area, ball pits, bowling etc..babylistening, I could go on and on..

Another one where we stayed but it is pricier,,more for a special occasion(was our anniversary) was the De Vere Cameron House on the banks of Loch Lomond..creche, very family friendly.

Dunblane Hydro is another one that has special high teas for children and a special service of two qualified childcarers who will play with your child in a playroom whilst you have dinner..again babylistening. Hilton Treetops in Aberdeen(where I come from and where there is fantastic parks and a great beach with a funfair and boardwalk for kids) is really child friendly too.

Hope this is of some help to someone..

Liz
