Can 17 year olds stay in france without an adult?

We are going to disney in may but dd and her boyfriend (almost 18) want to travel he day before, stay 1 night in paris and then meet us the next day.

Can they stay in a hotel at 17???

Now thats what i thought but when i rang one they said over 18's. Is it just a picky hotel then that refuses 17 year olds? I was concerned they might all be like that.....

Many Hotels in this country don't accept u18s. France will be no different.

How about a Paris Youth Hostel? Gives them independence but with help available if they need it. Probably just as good as an average Paris three star, and they will have fun!

They wanted a hotel really but at worst a hostel will be ok...... Im sure dd wanted a romantic break Grin
