Where other than the Algarve shall we go in Portugal this summer?

We love the Algarve but want to try somewhere else in Portugal close to the sea. We're looking at Cascais on the Lisbon coast. is this nice, anyother areas recommended? Thanks

Cascais is BRILLIANT, just got back from there on Friday, would go back, most definitely
Marina area and old town, lovely with cobbled roads, long esplanade between Estoril and Cascais to walk your food off, fab beaches, friendly people

Silver Coast - slightly further north than Cascais. We're going to Foz do Arelho (on Obidos lagoon) for third year in a row. The area is great for a combined sightseeing/beach hol which suits us down to the ground. The lagoon is just perfect for little ones as it's calm. It's less 'touristy' than Algarve in terms of being more where the Portuguese go on hols. Cooler than the Algarve but still lovely and warm compared to Scotland :). If you do go I can recommend Sintra and Mafra for day trips.
