Anyone with holiday knowledge of Portugal?

We've been very slack about sorting out a holiday for this year. It is our last opportunity to go ooutside school holidays!

I keep saying 'oh, we may go to Portugal' without knowing anything about it. I have a vague plan that we could stay somewhere near a beach but within an hours distance of Lisbon which I would really like to visit at least a couple of times over a week. My vision of the beach location is the Greek stereotype - tavernas, boats, beach, etc. Is there anywhere that matches this?

We would want a villa and will have a nearly 4 year old, 2 year old and a medium sized bump.

Only just seen this - have you checked Cascais or Estoril? About 20 mins outside Lisbon, beautiful beaches, holiday villas available at Vila Bicuda (there´s another thread about this!).

CaisCais is lovely, very chilled.

Salema on th Algarve coast is lovely too (its in a good bit) and its near ZooMarina which is our number 1 holiday memory with DS
