Hurrah! We've booked our flights and will be over there for two weeks in August. My BIL lives in SF with his partner so that will be our base. We have decided on a trip to Monterey and a stay in Yosemite (for our wildlife obsessed DS).

DH and I have been before but never with kids so any advice, ideas, recommendations would be very gratefully received! And we're flying Virgin so any thoughts about that would be great. I've never done a long haul with DC!

So excited! DS is 5 and DD is 2 incidentally.

Rent a car and drive down the Big Sur?
Visit the Hearst Mansion (it is awesome!)
The flight is long but honestly, it's not that bad, expect delays and make a plan for one and you'll be hunky dory.
