Loved PP last year but I fancy Greece this year.

Are there any places that are similar i.e. nice shallow bay, nice village/town to have a little wander around at night, boats/harbour, tavernas to eat out at, couple of sights to go and have a look at.

Cheers

Lindos in Rhodes

not sure why the depth of water matters - but try the Saronic/Argolic area. Nafplion, Spetses, Hydra, Porto Heli, places like that.

or many of the other islands, which will give you a shorter transfer if you don't mind aircraft noise.

you want a smoothly shelving beach which doesn't get waves. In Greece if there is a beach it will generally meet these criteria - some parts of the coastline drop straight into deep water but obviously there won't be a beach there!

Med also has negligible tide which is quite useful. Do watch out for the odd urchin.

Skiathos/Skopelos

Pefkos is just the other side of the peninsula from Lindos in Rhodes, very safe beach (not very deep from sea to land) and the whole resort is very popular with families with small DC. Lindos is a short taxi ride away and the price is fixed for all the journeys they do so you don't get ripped off. There are also public buses, we saw people get a late afternoon bus to Lindos to have dinner there for a change and do a bit of shopping, then come back to Pefkos later in the evening. All the bars and restaurants in Pefkos are child friendly, some have Little Tikes play equipment to keep young DC amused while you have a drink.

It can get suddenly very hot from the beginning of June, just to warn you, unlike PP.

I really liked Thassos but I travelled there pre kids so don't remember what the sea conditions were like. But it has lovely squares, marina etc.

Aghia Efimia is a lovely harbour town/ village on Kefalonia ... fell in love with the place about 5 years ago. There was not alot there though..literally about 8 or 9 harbour side tavernas and a handful of places to stay which were fairly basic .But it wasnt very commercialised and was exjactly what we wanted. It may have developed a bit since then ..
