Easter - somewhere to go nice hotel, something to do in the area, where would you go?

Weve had abit of a rough time of late and DH will be working a fair bit now so want to go away for a couple of nights over easter.

Want a nice hotel with a pool so we can come back and have a splash about after being out all day - us and our DS age 8.

We are East Mids so dont want to be going to Scotland or way past London.

Was thinking of York but cant find a reasonably priced hotel

Could you recommend anywhere?

Legoland Hotel? DS would love it. Good adventure pool, for kids, an 8 year old will still enjoy it.

I don't know what the hotels are like, but Ironbridge has loads to see and do.
