hoorah think we have finally found a holiday destination near Shaftesbury in Dorset but we don't know much about it (left it a bit late)

we think it's going to be feasible to drive out to stuff, I think we could get to bournemouth for a day within an hour

anything else to suggest for us to do there? dds 5 and 1

ta!

Not too far to Lyme Regis, which is lovely; your 5 year old could look for fossils and they can play on the beach. There's a Seaworld place in Weymouth, and Abbotsbury has the swannery, a farm where you can hold guinea pigs and stuff and an indoor playbarn. These are all within an hour I would have thought. Shaftesbury is really pretty but don't know what there is for children. HTH :)

Corfe castle, nr wareham?
There's a fab steam train from near there (norden) doen to swanage.
swanage itself is wonderful.
Monkey world, nr wareham.
Bournemouth and Poole.
do the ferry from Poole to studland.

You can get to heaps of places from there.
have a lovely time.
