Best holiday for boys aged 4 and 1 - must be cheap, cheap

just returned from midweek break at centreparcs and massively underwhelmed - accommodation v dated and so many people. What did we expect?! Thinking of alternative for summer - possibly camping. We love Norfolk, Dorset, the lakes, Scotland...any cheap recommendations - camping or other? Many thanks

Campings great unless the weather is rubbish in which case it is a complete chore with kids. if you want to camp wait until a few days before to suss out the weather then just ring around and see where you can get in. booking camping pitches so far in advance is far to risky with the crap weather there is in the UK. had you thought about hiring a camper van and going around/staying in one of these.
