I would like to have a day out next week with dcs 10 and 7 and a baby in pushchair, and I will be using public transport. Can anyone suggest what we can do on a cold february day please .

You best bet, I think is the Natural History Museum / Science Museum / V&A - all together in South Kensington.

Or - go to the South Bank for a mooch about (very child friendly and good playgrounds if the weather stands up) and wander down to the aquarium (bit pricey)

How about Imagine Festival on Southbank, running all next week with either blockbuster big name author events ie Horowitz and a mix of smaller author workshops (steve Cole, Dee Shulman). The workshops are £3 a go and don't need tickets for adults, but best to book ahead as got busy last year and was heaving this weekend.
