London day out with 2 dds

Our half term starts tomorrow and I'd like to take my dds (aged 12 and 14) to London for a day. We'll be on a very tight budget so really are looking to spend the day visiting free attractions. We've done all the usual touristy things over the last couple of years and would like some ideas for something new. We haven't been to the V and A - is this worth a trip? Open to all suggestions! TIA

My girls love the V&A, when we were there last year there were free craft activities. South Bank worth a walk to see the buskers if the weather's nice. Covent Garden for more free entertainment. Sorry can't think of anything more original. I'd have a look online for restaurant vouchers too. Hope you have a great time.
