We may be going next year, is 1 day enough or to do it properly would 2 be better? Also has anyone been to Knotts Berry Farm, as we are going to Disney this Oct wouldn`t really want to go to the one in Calif. We are still looking for good value lodging in Calif, anyone know of anything unusual though not expensive?

Legoland is situated at Carlsbad. It is dependent on the time of year as to how busy it can get but we went there last August for the day and most lines were not too bad overall. You may want to consider two days if you haven't been there before (there is a large outlet mall situated near there too).

Knotts Berry Farm is also well worth a visit for either one day or two; they have some very good rides for both adults and children (their Camp Snoopy is nice for the children and the lines for the rides there don't get too long). You must, must try Mrs Knotts World Famous Chicken Dinner!!!! (go early). Have never been to their water park but hear its also good.

Have you tried www.tripadvisor.com re the lodging?. It certainly gives many reviews of hotels.

Thanks to both of you. We have been to California in 91,93,and 95 so have done alot, but that was with our sone that died and now its a different ball game taking 3x9yr olds! Just want to go back whilst we both have the energy as we sure arent getting any younger! Just feel that only staying a night here ,there wont work with these three, different when it was just us and Matthew, such good times. Prices have certainly changed since the 90`s, so we are hunting out the best way to do it. SueW are you over there on vacation then?
