and really really need a holiday that is actually a break, then go \link{http://www.toddlerholiday.com\here}

we got back last week. it is beautiful, they are a lovely couple, the playbarn is amazing, the food is sensational, and we didn't even use the free babysitting!!!!!!!!! they do your laundry for you at no extra charge, provide every piece of baby/toddler equipment you could possibly want and more (sleeping bags for babies: tick, bedguard for toddler: tick, full sized wooden cot: tick, monitor: tick etc etc). enough toys to fell a family of rabid toy lovers, a huge trampoliine in the playbarn (which makes weather a bit of a non issue) an outside playarea. you never need to cook (on the nights they don't babysit, they provide a room service dinner option).....this place really really rocks.

they deserve to make a success of it, which is why i've started this thread.

wish it was in the uk I hate driving overseas!

Spagblog · 21/04/2006 14:33

Sounds fab! Is there much to do in the surrounding area?

Whizzz · 21/04/2006 14:35

If I win the lottery - thats the sort of thing I wanted to do in Cornwall !!

anchovies · 21/04/2006 14:35

Thanks for that sophable, the place looks fab and just what we need with 2 toddlers!

anchovies · 21/04/2006 14:37

How did you get there, did you drive? How long does the france bit take?

Blackduck · 21/04/2006 14:42

can't see any info, but do they take dogs??

Heathcliffscathy · 21/04/2006 19:38

we drove to boulogne...it took about 3 1/2 hours once in france.

don't think they do dogs....

absolutely loads and loads to do: beautiful beaches, a really cool chateau nearby that has a 'surprise' fountain garden where the fountains are triggered by sensor (ds loved this, actually me and dh were quite tickled by it).

v nearby is william the conqueror's castle where he was born, i'm not into that sort of thing but it has been amazingly restored, we all really enjoyed it including 2 1/2 ds.

a 40 minute drive away is the best zoo/safari park we've ever been to: we were so close to two baby white tigers and the animals had loads of space....they specialise in breeding endangered species and have had loads of success which means the animals are happy there.

loads more, all of which we got out of the 'tried and tested' book in the gite, filled in by guests that stay there, all of whom have babies and toddlers so you get a really good idea of how child friendly it all is.

we did loads of other stuff, went to a couple of WW2 memorials, one of which, pegasus bridge was brilliant, not to big or harrowing with a lifesize model fighter plane and really moving letters home from the front (the bit that got me).

went to a calvados distillery to buy calvados. toured round suisse normande (stunning, not compared to switzerland for nothing).

i really cannot praise this place enough....sorry!!!

wish i was getting commission actually....
