Have heard it's nice for kids with a bit of nightlife too. anybody been? Is it suitable for a 3yo with parents who would like to have a few drinks early evening with dd in tow?

was about to bump when realised that withought thinking about it I'd written the word 'parents' oooh weird, does this mean I now subconsiously consider my dp to be my dd's parent?

We went there a few years ago and it was okay - fine for what we wanted ie a quiet, offseason break with the kids. Spent most of the time lounging round the pool, eating and drinking ie possibly what you have in mind. I seem to remember there were lots of restaurants / pubs so no lack of choice and lots of families, so quite family oriented.

MaryBS · 21/04/2006 18:25

I would say so, we liked it anyhow, and would go again.

There is a nice seabreeze which takes the heat off during the day, but it CAN get cold at night!

GDG · 21/04/2006 18:26

I went pre-children and thought it was lovely. I'd deffo go again as a couple - not sure about the kids aspect as I wasn't really thinking that then! I think there were kids around though - it's a nice little bay with a nice beach and some nice shops around. Lots of nice restaurants/bars and a nice front to stroll down.

JoolsToo · 21/04/2006 18:28

lot of 'nices' in there GDG are you feeling nice?

GDG · 21/04/2006 18:30

No. Am feeling tired.

NatalieJane · 21/04/2006 18:30

Agree with the others, loved it, certainly from what we saw (which wasn't an awful lot, but enough) is that it is one of the nicer parts of Lanzarote.

Loads of pubs/restaurants, nice beach, but as someone else said it does get surprisingly chilly at night.

mosschops30 · 21/04/2006 18:40

I went pre-kids too but thought it was lovely, very relaxing, tranquil resort, but with enough bars and nice restaurants so as not to be boring.
Have a nice holiday

JoolsToo · 21/04/2006 18:40

I liked it being cool at night - means a good nights sleep can be had

Gingerbear · 21/04/2006 18:44

Breezy Teguise? Was OK, too many hotels and not enough beach for me.
I much prefered Playa Blanca

JoolsToo · 21/04/2006 18:51

ditto Ginge

Gingerbear · 21/04/2006 18:54

No, Ginge wasn't breezy. A little farty after capers, but deffo not breezy. Wink

MillionDollarBaby · 21/04/2006 20:59

Ooooh sounds promising then. I don't mind cool in the evenings really.

I'll have a look at Playa Blanca too.

Well it WAS breezy when we went, guess it depends on the time of the year - we went May/June time....

onlyjoking9329 · 27/04/2006 21:44

we went a few years ago, since then we have been to puerto del carmen which we prefer, much more stuff there, thou did prefer the beach at teguise

pebblemum · 27/04/2006 22:53

Ive been to Puero Del Carmen too and thought it was lovely. It had a lively nightlife if you want it but at the same time there was plenty of quieter places to go in the evening if you wanted. The beach was gorgeous although the sand was very hot (burnt dh's feetGrin)We visited Costa Teguise but it seemed dull in comaprison.

We went pre-kids but would love to return one day with the boys, think it was one of the best places we have been to, plenty to do and people were very friendly

frumpygrumpy · 27/04/2006 22:56

Was the worst holiday I've ever had but admittedly that could have been because the hotel we stayed at was the PITS and the package crowd was sleazy. Maybe if we hadn't taken a last minute thing.....

pebblemum · 27/04/2006 23:16

We did the last minute thing but obviously had more luck than you, frumpygrumpy. Couldnt fault our hotel except for the giant cockroache that seemed to chase me across the room one night Grin

chipmonkey · 29/04/2006 00:56

I preferred Puerto Del Carmen but that could be because our first holiday with ds1 was in Costa Teguise and he was a grumpy little sod for the whole trip and only cheered up on the plane home!

jenk1 · 01/05/2006 11:22

We go every winter, perfect for a family holiday really nice Grin

no yobbos, lovely beach and shops and restaurants.

Love it!!!!

In fact im trying to persuade DH that we need to go there again in October Smile

HenniPenni · 01/05/2006 11:38

Went there 3 years ago, lovely place, nice beaches, lovely cooling breeze- but becarefull it's hotter than you think.

Restaurants excellent, waiters very friendly- especially to the kids.

Would deffo recommend it and would love to go again.
