First Great Western

I sent off for First Great Western's Priority Seat card as i need to do 3hr trips for work fairly frequently, thinking it could get to sit in 1st class while I'm pregnant... Their standard seats are too uncomfortable even at 18 wks pregnant!
I got chucked out of 1st class by conductor at 18 wks.
Anyway, got card now and all it does is ensure you get a seat in standard (says inTs & Cs you dont get to upgrade to 1st), which you'd hopefully be offered by a kindly fellow passenger anyway. Has anyone used their to sit in 1st class anyway and got away with it?
Can't face 3 hrs in those AWFUL seats!!

Sorry no specialist advice, but bumping this.

I guess the Priority Seat card doesn't enable you to turf out another holder of such a card, nor somebody who has valid need of the seat, (eg if they are disabled, or more heavily pregnant than yourself), but doesn't have a card.

Unfortunately you can't really depend on a fellow passenger doing the decent thing and offering you a seat, so it's better than nothing.

Depending on the volume of passengers on a given day, you could push your luck and depending on the good nature of the conductor, they might let you upgrade. I wouldn't hold your breath though.

Will your employer not stump up for an occasional first class ticket, if it's such a regular event?
