Snow holiday???

We're thinking about booking a last minute holiday for 3-4 nights for sometime in February/March. DD (4yo) has asked to go see snow, but I don't know anything about snowy holidays!

We're not in the least bit interested in skiing, but we'd like somewhere that we could do a bit of sledding, snowman building, and anything involving animals or a pool is a bonus. Also, I'm not to keen on self catering (It's not a working holiday.). We've also got DS (1yo) to consider.

Does anybody have any ideas? I've looked at Aviemore in Scotland and a few places in Switzerland and Austria, but I'm really confused.

TIA

You can get to a number of small picturesque resorts easily by train from Zurich, Geneva, Innsbruck and Salzburg. Seefeld (nr Innsbruck) might suit you, has a great indoor /outdoor pool and lots of non ski activities , Zell am See (nr Salzburg) which is on a lake or Engelberg (Switzerland) with trips up to a glacier, don't recall a public pool though come to mind.

Marking place - as I fancy something like this for next Xmas. Maybe with the option to ski, but other stuff to do too.

We are going to the kinderhotel Post (near Salzburg) un a couple of weeks! Heard good reports about it, will let you know how we get on!!

The ones I listed still have access to decent skiing although Seefeld more for Beginners/ early Intermediate but also cater well for non skiers and families. Lech is lovely too , if you can push the boat out.

Thanks for all the great suggestions. LIZS I like the look of Seefeld, just trying to get my head around it a bit more.

redastra I thought about a Kinderhotel too, but I was a bit concerned about the food. When are you going? so I can can boldly PM for a report when you get back

Aviemore is great. Lots of family things to do, we've been a few times. We go self catering, but there are a couple of big hotels with pools/ restaurants. But I don't know how long the snow lasts!!

Just thought I would add a wee update to this thread! We are currently staying at the Kinderhotel Post in Unken and I cannot praise it highly enough. Lovely hotel, friendly staff, fantastic food and plenty to do for kids, good skiing as well (very good ski school).

California pm me if you want, we area here until Saturday!
