Linked cottages? 3 families travelling UK or France - help please?

Having looked at the v expensive caravan hols in UK and France I am thinking that cottages may be the way to go. Three families, we are 5, brothers family of 4 and our parents. Much though I love them I would prefer the accommodations to be separate (caravans have always worked well in the past). There must be cottages within a stones throw of each other? B&B would be fine for the olds.
Needs to be within about 5 hours of London and am happy to go across the channel. Looking to pay no more than about £700 per family. A pool would be fabulous but not a necessity.
Oh please help me wise ones.

The horse farm is a bit too remote for us - would like to be closer to a large town and preferably closer to the coast.

We go here [rookeryfarmnolfolk.com] it is over your budget but I would highly recomend it.

Gites at Guebernez was just wonderful, and they had three cottages in a row- the owners are a lovely English family with a little boy and so the places are perfectly suited to young children. Really well priced and I think the three places would suit you really well as there are two family-sized ones and one smaller one suitable for a couple.

Thanks MrsJamin they look fabulous but are booked up for August - might look ahead to next year though!

We've stayed at these cottages - the owners have a pool you can have access to by arrangement.

They look lovely mistle but a bit too close to home.
Am having second thoughts now. Think it may be better to go the caravan route after all as there will be more on site for the children.
Thabks all for you help.
