Stay on site as near to entrance as possible. Book restaurants in advance they get full. Use Eurostar. Tricky to avoid queues

If you are driving down then for children of that age Davey Crockett Ranch is a good place to stay - especially in the Summer when it will be crowded. You get your own chalet with swimming pool and bar/ restaurant and activities on site - but you do have to drive one exit down the motorway to get there. There is a supermarket at Valle Europe - but it is closed on Sunday.
If you have no car, and don't mind not having a swimming pool then Cheyenne is the best one to go for - walking distance to the park and nice rooms.
It isn't worth paying extra for the 'better' hotels - you can drink in the bars, and eat in the restaurants without being a guest. (have stayed at Sequoia Lodge and Hotel New York) The Magic Circus is good offsite - though haven't stayed there since it stopped being a Holiday Inn - the rooms have bunk beds which can be curtained off from the main room so you get a little privacy! Yhere is a bus in to the park though it does get crowded. Don't pay extra for breakfast - get croissants etc from the shop either at the station or at the petrol station outside Sante Fe hotel.
Agree with booking restaurants - try and eat at the Blue Lagoon which is part of the Pirates of the Caribbean ride. if you can afford Walts then try and book a table for the same time as one of the parades and ask if you can have a window seat - god place to watch.
We live in Kent and went every other year (when the children were young we bought season tickets and used to go twice!) so if you need to know anything happy to answer. If I were you though - would wait until either November or next January/ February/March - there are often free child places offered in Spring and the park is much emptier. Late November the Christmas decorations go up and it is magical! have fun!
