Treasure trails

Discovered this website with treasure hunt type activities around various towns. Thought about doing one with the kids one weekend or doing one as part of a day out in London. Has any one ever done one? Would you recommend them or are they a waste of time?

We've done 2: both in our home town and at my in laws, so places we know quite well. Thoroughly recommend it- we saw all sorts of things we'd never noticed and had great fun!
Each time we have regretted not taking a copy of the back page before solving the clues ( we bought the paper versions) as we can see us doing them again if friends visit etc.. a really nice way to see a place.

Yes, they are great fun, for young and old alike. Not only do you get exercise in the fresh air, you get to learn something of the local area, and you solve a mystery too. If you enter the correct answer on their website, you get entered into an annual cash prize draw! They are well worth the £5.99

Finally did my first treasure trail today. Got together with some friends and their children and had a great time exploring the local town. We discovered places we never knew existed, learnt some history, did some maths and had a good long walk, getting the little darlings out in the fresh air for 2 hours! Definitely worth the money.

We did one but it was very complicated and tricky. Some of the questions were a bit ambiguous & had 2 or 3 possible answers which messed everything up. The walk was lovely though... it was in an area we know well but got us to look at different things that we'd never noticed before.
