Please help!! We're hoping to book a holiday for this summer (or possibly autumn half term) but are struggling to find somewhere the ticks all our (many) boxes. We've never done a resort with kids clubs and want to try it to see if we can actually have a rest too (DDs will be 4 and 6). All the following are non-negotiable;

At least 4*
2 bed apartment, self catering
Kid's club/entertainment of some kind
Nice pool
Easy walk to local shops/restaurants etc
Easy drive to places for DH to visit when he's bored of sitting down. Ideally cultural (loves ancient history so Greece might be perfect?), or little old towns etc...

Oh and we'd like to pay about £2K for a fortnight please! (and ideally fly from Bristol but you can't have it allSmile)

Have you thought about a cruise?

plipplops · 08/01/2013 12:54

Yes, but are a bit nervous about being stuck in somewhere (and also the price to go on a nice one?? Just had a little browse and a 7 day Eastern Med one was about £3200 which I think feels like too much cash.

Also, DD1 is a really really fussy eater so it would need to have loads of food options (and is the main reason we'd like to go self catering), although I guess if you were at ports a lot so could get off and find some food it would be ok? Not sure how to make it affordable.

(and I feel terrible saying this but lots of DHs family cruise all the time, and I'd need to listen to their opinions on absolutely everything!)

It's quite tricky findings self catering with kids club. Eurocamp would fit the bill but is not 4* its a mobile home!

On the food front you couldn't really do better than a cruise, there's endless food choice on board, and a special children's tea if you want with everything from shepherd's pie to smiley faces. I am on a cruise in April which is costing £2K for 2 weeks, and that includes all food, and all day and evening kids' clubs if you want. There's a couple of cruises on Azura and Oceana in October for 12 night that would fit the bill.
Otherwise, I haven't tried them but have seen quite few keycamp sites recommended on here, you could have a look back through posts to see the recommended ones and then see if they have a kids' club? As said though, they aren't 4 star.
