we have always taken our holiday in the whit holidays as my children get two weeks off then. However my eldest is now at high school and only gets one week so we are shifting the holiday to the summer holidays. it's a bit of a shocker how expensive it all is tbh.

we know what we want- somewhere hot and sunny, not massively touristy-hate places like benidorm, or magaluf, want to be able to spend time on a beach or by the pool yet still be able to go sight seeing some days. Want to be able to go for a walk in the evening and see other people about-maybe sit outside a bar or have a meal somewhere nice.
we want other kids around for our kids to play with.

have been to puerto pollensa in the past and LOVED IT but this year we can't afford it and we've already been and dh wants to try somewhere different.

i don't really fancy turkey but other than that am very open minded.

Any reccommendations please?

Rethymnon in Crete might be what you're after

Sorento in Italy. Means you can visit Pompeii, Herculaneum and Capri whilst you are there.
