Has anyone tried to get a working visa for Oz under the Skilled Visa Programme? Is it worth using an agency and how does one obtain the forms? Any tips or advice on pitfalls gratefully received!

Have you looked on Department of Immigration and Multicultural and Indigenous Affairs ? They have some information on there about using an immigration agent (if your case is complicated or you need help with forms).

I have only had to apply for the supported spouse visa when DH (a Kiwi) was working out there and DD and I were going to join him. The forms were not too complicated and I downloaded from the net, I'm sure (I ahte leaving my name and address on ansaphones for forms to be sent out and I think that was the other option at the time). It took ages for the visa to come through and then I was told I could have gone on a 3 month tourist visa and converted whilst out there.

Thanks SueW . If anyone has personal experience of the process I would be interested.

my sister did this and has been living very happily in melbourne with her DP for 4 years. They did go to an agency first but they turned out to be time and money wasters.

suggest doing it yourself if you can. will try to find our more info about the process from her.
