Hello,

I am starting to research for our first family holiday next May/June, with our DS who will be almost 4 and DD who will be 18 months. Both are very pale skinned hence going early in season so need to avoid very hot places, although warm enough to sunbathe (maybe a bit hopeful haha!)

We are totally open to any short haul destination but want great child friendly facilities, pools, parks etc Beach close, nice promenade for early eve strolling, bit of culture, not lager drinking eastenders watching brits on tour (sorry to be a snob).

Has anyone got any resorts/hotels etc they would recommend, really appreciate any replies thanks

Lu :)

Puerto Pollensca in Majorca. Short flight and will be hot but not scorching like Turkey etc

We stayed in the Valentin Puerto Azul which was really family friendly and a short walk from the Pine Walk (great for strolling) and the main square which has lots of lovely restaurants.

I would highly recommend and am struggling to find something for this year which we will all love as much!

We took the girls on their first holiday back in May.
They were 3 and just 2 ( week after her birthday)

We went to Alcudia in majorca. We stayed the port end which is quieter. It was lovely, family friendly with yummy restaurants in the marina.
Beach is very shallow too so great for the kids.

Flight was about 2.5 hours so not too long stuck on a plane. Temp then was about 28/29 which was ideal.

We stayed in a 2 bed apartment that was right on the beach and very child friendly. Included things like bed guards, pool inflatables etc
We found this much easier as the girls could have their own room and we could watch TV/ sit on the balcony without worry of waking them.
We booked through Owners Direct. I can PM you the details if you wish. :)

An Iberostar (there are a few) sitting directly on Alcudia Bay (so no road to cross) would be perfect. Hotel, Pool, beach bar, beach - all in 30m or so - was perfect, mine were the same age. We were further round the bay from the Port, so no where really to walk to really but could jump on bus or taxi to Alcudia old town and up to Puerto Pollesca to walk along the Pine walk and see the sand sculptures.

We preferred the beach in Alcudia to the Puerto Pollesca one.

Hi

Thanks evertone for your help, have booked 7 nights in May to Puerta Pollensca at the Playamar Aparthotel, well chuffed as free child place AND flying from Bristol airport which is 10 mins away. Looks perfect, loads of kids play stuff, amazing reviews on Trip Advisor :)
