First holiday with baby - where should we go?!

We want to go away for the second week of July, by which time ds will be 15 months. We'd like to go somewhere in Europe that will be warm and sunny but not too hot.
Somewhere self-catering (apartment, villa or hotel - we're not fussed) where we can combine lazing on the beach or by the pool with a bit of sight-seeing.
Can anyone recommend anywhere nice (and not too pricey)? Thanks x

Greece definatley.
Beautiful beaches, friendly locals, gorgeous sceanery and lovely food.

We went to Italy - on lake Garda - when Dd was 16 months old. They are so family friendly and have everything you need to buy over there. DD was treated like a VIP wherever we went. It was beautiful too.

July will be hot pretty much anywhere in Europe though.

That's what worries me. It's the only time we can go, unfortunately.

Couldn't you go to France - maybe Brittany or the Vendee where it will not be quite so hot?
