not my first time of course but dd's (13 wks old) first time - thought I'd share that with you mners as I'm feeling a bit nervous for some reason.

It does seem daunting the first time but it'll be great.

Heathcliffscathy · 12/04/2006 09:42

beware the stairs! that is the only problem with the tube is that none of them (or v v few) have lifts. otherwise ds has always absolutely loved it....a treat in itself!

it is a great way of travelling, it's understandable that you're nervous but you'll be fine...

good luck! it'll be fine, but be careful with the buggy on and off - go backwards and ask for help if you can. the first time i took our buggy on the tube i got a wheel stuck between the train and the platform - it broke off and ended up under the train Shock.

thanks for all your support! I'm thinking of putting dd in a sling as I can't face the idea of battling along with the pram (not to mention the fact that I am rubbish at escalators - I can do up but have never managed down!).

I would say ask for help if it is not offered. people might be wary of offering but if you ask ime very few people say no!
have fun

would def recommend sling - pram vs London Underground is not a fun battle.

I went to meet a few friends for lunch a few weeks back. Took both dd1 3yrs old, and dd2 19 months and in a buggy, we went from barking to canary wharf, God I love Canary wharf station, no problems with buggy's whatsoever, lifts and big touch out barriers for buggy's everywhere...I could kiss the architect....

thanks for your support - we made it to central london and back! I even fed dd on the dlr.
