spa week end with baby

Hi, we are looking for a luxury Spa hotel not to far away fron London where we can take our baby to. Most of the Spa hotels don't accept babies in the Spa and want the parents to leave the baby in the kids club. We want to have a family break and enjoy our 7 mth old baby in the swimming pool. Any recommendations?

try centerparcs

groggymama · 06/04/2006 15:01

butlins at skegness is good

lazycow · 06/04/2006 15:56

Definitely try a child centred place like centre parks. Spas are places to relax so other people on holiday may be a bit upset if the baby cries etc.

There is somewhere that does special mother & baby things (dad can come too).
Was sorely tempted myself but was dragged to Turkey instead.
It was reviewed in Observer about 12 mths ago.
Bugger,can't remember. Angry

Luxury spa and Butlins in the same thread????

\link{http://www.hilton.co.uk/coylumbridge\Coylumbridge, aviemore} a Hilton Hotel do toddler breaks, specific times for kids and no kids in pool so you get the best of both worlds.

I would do my conkers, if I paid out to go to a full blown spa and I had to share it with a baby. Sorry but I would.

I love my DS, but sometimes you need your own space.

Mosschops30 · 07/04/2006 18:39

I agree LGJ, I have just been to a spa which was adults only and it was bliss.

Why would you want to take a baby to a luxury spa hotel anyway when they cannot reap the benefits, surely somewhere more family centered would be better

I know you wanted something near London Vava, but you would find what you´re looking for near Graz in Austria (RyanAir destination). There are lots of true spas with thermal waters as well as the stardard range of beauty treatments, massage, etc. and they are hugely popular with the Austrians of all ages. Also baby friendly with one or two having lots of baby water play facilities as well as buggies for use by the pools. The big spas have 4 or 5 star hotels but for a more modest budget I´ve paid about 35 quid a night in a 2 bedroom flat (ferienwohnung). Access by the day costs about 20 pounds if I remember rightly, and it is quieter in summer than winter, with lots of sunloungers.

Most info is in German but have a taste at this site:

Maybe the Ickworth hotel would do for you.
has a spa in the hotel (ie rooms for treatments) and then also a swimming pool where children are allowed.
Is in Suffolk ca 2 hrs from London
