Recommended child friendly hotels in London?

Please can anyone recommend any centrally located London hotels? We want to go down in a couple of weeks and stay midweek for 2 nights. We're planning on visiting the Science and Natural History museums, so ideally somewhere that won't take too long to get to South Ken on the tube / bus would be great.

I'm going to look on lastminute.com but would prefer to have a recommendation rather than go blind.

Thanks.

what about travel Inn? They have one at Putney Bridge a couple of minutes from the tube and also one in South Ken.

Interested in this as well!

Budget available? (that might influence recommendations)

Erm, just had heart palpations at the cost of hotels even on lastminute! Realised that our 2 days would cost us about £500 by the time we've paid for food and attractions.

That's really put me off Shock Now wishing I had family in London!!

Think we're going to do something else cheaper instead, just don't know what Sad

you only live once Nottsmum....is it out of the question?

Why not go to Stratford Upon Avon and visit Warwick castle etc if not London?

HMC - I know what you're saying but we want to save up for a holiday in the summer too and this is a special treat for our eldest daughter who is starting school after Easter. (We wanted to spend a bit extra quality time with her before she goes to "big school".)

Anyway, we've done the next (possibly better) best thing, I've just booked a really nice hotel with the Legoland 2 day pass deal. DD1 is really excited! (So am I!!) It's cost us £182 with breakfast and the tickets, so significantly cheaper than going down to London.

The Travel Inn next to the London Eye is really central, clean and the rooms are large.I am sure that the rates are about £95 or less per night as long as you book far enough ahead.
Failing that,NottsMum's idea sounds great and you could get a train form Windsor into London VERY easily and combine the two!
Whatever you do-have a great time.

I've heard very good things about legoland. Have a wonderful time!
