Will Croatia be impossibly hot in Aug?

Looking at travelling to the Split area for the last two weeks of Aug with the boys who will be 8 and 5. Has anyone been there at that time and can give advice? Or indeed, has anyone been there at any other time and have any hints/tips to offer?

None except I will be there in late July.

Hiya we were in Croatia last July, with a 6 month old baby and tbh the weather was fine. We stayed on island off Split. I dont remember it being unbearably hot. It was very pleasant as far as i can remember whereabouts are you staying?

godh my sp is terrible i meant 2 say soemthing along the lines of the heat was'nt unbearable!

Cyan, we are definitely flying to Split as it is considerably cheaper than Dubrovnik at that time of eyar. The two lots of accommodation we are looking at are both in the Trogir area, one is on Ciovo island.
