Would be a stop off on the way home from Dorset/Devon...

The website and pamphlet makes it look tacky and weird especially for the cost...

Opinions please.

£50 for how many people? And what age kids?

Wookey Hole IS tacky and weird but it's a great place to visit - you could easily spend 4/5 hours there Grin

RandomMess · 14/11/2012 18:49

2 adults and 3 children 7,9, 10.5

Shall we just rename it tackey hole!!!

It wasn't worth that price about 20 years ago, that's for sure. Unless they revamped it a lot they are trading heavily on the lack of tourist destinations in that area.

Actually there are loads of lovely places to visit but in more of a cream tea with grandma kind of way

BettySuarez · 14/11/2012 18:54

They will love it at that age Grin

Maybe take a packed lunch to save on pennies as if I remember correctly, the resteraunt wasn't much cop.

Or you could stop at Cabots on way home for a treat depending on which direction you are heading in?

Nivet · 14/11/2012 18:54

Tacky hell-hole. I wouldn't bother!

RandomMess · 14/11/2012 18:56

Split of opinion where/what is Cabots?

We went over the Jubilee weekend and didn't rate it at all.

The pamphlet and website really big it up to look like something far more impressive than it is, so if you think they make it look weird and tacky, then the real thing is definitely not for you. Grin

RandomMess · 14/11/2012 19:39

Hmm but wiill the kids enjoy it?

We wouldn't be going for us, we can do what we choose the rest of the hols I reckon Grin

we like tacky!! was fun with our girls aged 10 and 11 in summer... Caves are good, tour is nice, outside walk through a fairy garden thing is crappy, inside mirror maze is great! as is the ball shooting pit... around 3 hours in total for us - oh and the ice cream is fantastic!!!! and the gift shop has some nice cheap pocket money level tat in it too..

RandomMess · 14/11/2012 19:59

I am going nearer to christmas. Does anyone know if there is anywhere to have a picnic inside?

Myliferocks · 17/11/2012 21:29

We went once. Never again and we live locally!

RandomMess · 17/11/2012 21:33

Due to appalling behaviour from the dds we're not going tomorrow, perhaps some point in the future I will face it with Clubcard Vouchers.

Weird and tacky is about right. Avoid.
