We've just booked to go to disneyland just after DD's 2nd birthday, anyone been recently and got tips about the best things to see/do with a toddler? We will be staying in the newport bay hotel and it's next month for 2 nights/3 days.

We went to Disney in Paris last month with our 3.5 year old daughter. We had a great time but she found it exhausting so was so glad we took a pushchair which we'd been in two minds about as shes a good walker normally! Me and hubby took it in turns and went on a few cheeky big rides when she had a power nap in the buggy he he! as queues only 5 mins a pop!

Be prepared that the characters are a lot bigger in real life. My daughter found that overwhelming and went a coy meeting characters up close. She much preferred the parades and seeing the Animagique etc shows in Walt Dinsey Studios.

Id say just charge your cameras etc as its so memorable seeing their little faces! And be prepared to pay over the odds for EVERYTHING!!!! Ie ?8 euros a pint,?25-30 for fajitas etc. We had our best meal in Rainforest Café in the Disney Village. Was cheaper than hotel and much more atmosphere in the village. We stayed at Vienna Castle which was faultless and will definitely go there again. Shuttle buses ran so regularly so was just ideal.

Have a gratt time and brace yourself for the merchandise too!!!

We're just back from a week there - stayed in the Dream Castle which was better value than the Disney hotels, and the shuttle bus was excellent. It's one of 4 hotels just outside the park - Explorers, Kyriad, Magic Circus are the others, well worth checking for prices.

We used the shop and sandwich place in the station, also the "on the run" shop at the Esso garage beside Santa Fe.

Disney Dreams show is magical, but it's on very late at night, and the stampede for buses afterwards is not pretty.

For characters, head for the studios from about 13.00-15.00, lots of them in little clusters round the plaza.
