Hotels in Brussels...HELP!

Good evening all. Help required. Can anyone recommend a Hotel in the centre of Brussels? I am going for 4 days at the start of June to see the Dalai Lama and I have neglected to book my Hotel...until now, when I am in panic mode. I haven't been before and I have never booked a Hotel online. I am web literate but the amount of 'cheap' hotel bookers is overwhelming. I am seeing His Holiness at the Tour & Taxis conference centre which is near the Parc Elizabeth and the Gard du Nord.
Any information would be most gratefully received.

Think there is a very central Ibis at Grande Place (?). I've stayed in the Ibis over the road from the Eurostar station - hotel itself was fine, but wouldn't recommend it as area was quite grotty.

Hi, Dalesgirl. I can't actually recommend a hotel, since I live in Brussels and have never needed a hotel, but try to avoid anywhere too close to the Gare du Nord or the Gare du Midi - they are not places you will want to have to walk through to get back to the hotel in the evening. Anywhere close to the metro stations Rogier or Botanique will be within walking distance of Tour & Taxis, but may not be a great area. Anything near to the Gare Central/Grand' Place will mean you'll probably have to take public transport to T&T but should be a better area. CAT me if you need more info.
