Help me out with some holiday recommendations for next year

It is half term so thoughts are turning to next years holiday. Where have you been that you really enjoyed. Ideally we would do two weeks in October so long haul necessary for the weather. Could do summer though if I get my holiday requests in quickly at work. We have two DSs who would be six and eight. We've done Disney Florida so want something different. Budget up to six grand.

Any suggestions?

Holidays I have done with my sons that I can recommend are cruises, various trips to the Caribbean, Egypt, Cape Town and Brazil and Argentina.
Do you like activity holidays, or more r&r or a mixture?

Cyprus, not long haul though, is hot and sunny in October.
