Castara is gorgeous Helenmh, that's where we stay.

Top tip, shopping very limited there and only 2 or 3 places to eat so stock up on the supermarket on the main road up from the airport unless you want to be hopping back and forth in your hire car every day or two!

Countess dracula. Thanks for your tips on castara. The man who helps to look after the lodges is picking us up from the airport and offers us the chance to stop off at a supermarket so we will certainly do that. Codswallop- have you looked at the expedia website. We havent used them but my brotherinlaw recommended them and their prices seem competitive for either flight only or flight and accommodation. Has anyone any experience of them

Best way to fly to Tobago IMO is with Excel Airways. Charter flight from Gatwick, leaves on a saturday around 10.45 am. Goes direct one way and via Grenada the other, but you don't have to wait long in Grenada, maybe an hour, and don't have to switch planes.

You can go in their economy which is pretty small, but only 1" smaller than Virgin economy.

They have 2 other classes, Premium with 34" seat pitch which is fine and Excel One with 45" (like small business class). Prices in April from
356/586/816 £ for the 3 classes respectively. Oh and beat them down on the price they give you, say you've got it cheaper elsewhere. We got £150 each off!

Actually I think this one was the cheapest

Oh and return flight is 8pm on the following Saturday so you get a whole last day on the beach + overnight flight home which I like.
