Jimmy's Farm

We went today and it was fab. Went last year (midweek) and it was very quiet and not much of it was open. But this time was great. We bought sausages and a few other things at the shop then went on the nature trail (which was just fine for 3 + 5 yr old). There were a few people with 3 wheeler buggies but there were a few steep bits which would have been difficult. We fed the pigs at the top then looked at rabbits and hens.
Had a gorgeous really meaty burger from their barbecue whilst ds and dd played with their farm toys.
Didn't see Jimmy but did see Michaela in the shop and Andy (the man who looks after the pigs) was wandering around as was Dolly who was chatting to customers.
Really recommend it.
It's just south of Ipswich by the way.

Have they made any efforts with expanding then?

cece · 26/03/2006 20:45

I went mid week and it was quiet. Didn't realise they ahd a walk. May have to visit again.

Nbg · 26/03/2006 20:49

I'd be too busy jumping round like an idiot saying
"oooh it's Micheala" "ooooh it's Andy and Dolly"

would love to go but would be so disapointed if Jimmy wasnt there, as he is soo FIT.... yum yum, nice sausages to................

we overheard Dolly bemoaning the local council with their plans to expand the farm so I don't think they've got any further on from where the last series left them. He said the programme is back in the autumn plus he and Jimmy have been asked to do a conservation programme, which will be filmed just north of my town.Grin
I got the new book as my mother's day present plus we bought a copy of his last book (signed) for £10 in the shop.
I love their sausages. I think I might consider using their mail order soon.

I did keep whispering out of the side of my mouth to dh.
They seemed a bit embarrassed by the attention, imo. I did want to tell Michaela that she was going to be my new best friend but didn't want to seem too needy...

Such a shame that they can't expand. I hope they get to do something. I think they've done very well.

I've had a look at their website. The prices aren't too bad are they?

Nbg · 26/03/2006 20:55

lol!

My mum said she watched it the other night and said "oooh I don't think that jimmy and Micheala will last very long" Shock

I had to give her a good slap for saying such nasty things!

we got a packet of 8 sausages for about £4.50. Obviously a lot more than supermarket prices but I would rather just eat sausages a bit less to justify it. Or have them as a treat. At least you know that you're paying for meat, not just your regular sausage filler.

Nooooo! They're my new favourite (sort of) celebrity couple.
They couldn't split up. No no no.

Have you tried their parma ham type stuff?

Got a real craving for burgers atm too....

I forgot about that. Just bought the usual sausages (Essex and Suffolk). Will look out for it next time.
