We've just come back from a day here and wanted to shout it's praises and recommend it to everyone!
it's a stately home with gardens etc but also has a farm and a fantastic adventure playground.Absolutely brilliant! Lots of high climbing nets and walkways and slides. But also a great area with sand and water and ..ooh just loads of things for them to play on/with.
It was £ 13 for dh,ds1 and me and ds2 was free because he was under 3.
would like to go back one day and do the house but maybe without the boys!
but the farm and playground were super!

The gardens are excellent as well- lots of places for the kids to explore. does get very crowded in the summer though and big kids can dominate but it is fab. Have you been to Belton House?

I haven't been to Chatsworth for years. Thanks, alexsmum, I'll put it on my wish list - sounds great.

It also has the most beautiful visitor toilets in the entire world.

alex's mum - it's in Grantham but well worth a day out, especailly when it's a family day. It is National trust and has a good adventure playground too.

I grew up in that neck of the woods and we used to go to Chatsworth and Belton House loads. Also went to Clumber Park which is great for a family day out cycling or walking and Rutland Water for the same thing
