During the Easter hols en route to friends, we will have a day in Manchester. Two boys aged 10 and 6.

What is the perfect day?

Any Manchester mumsnetters please?

Definitely Science Museum - last time we went we (dss 6 and 8) spent 6 hours there, and I still had to drag them away!

bluesky · 23/03/2006 17:50

Right Science Museum it is definitely! That for the morning, then mancmum's urbis for lunch. Can you wander from there to something else for the afternoon. Can't imagine the three males will let me anywhere near shops!

You can look out of the window of the Science museum (from the top floor 'Hands on' bit) and see Coronation Street Grin

urbis - is right next door to the triangle with some lush shops and over the way from Selfridges Harvery Nicks etc....

The art gallery in manchester is good for kids -- a good interactive bit for them to play on...

bluesky · 23/03/2006 18:12

.. triangle? Whats that then?!

OP posts:
mancmum · 24/03/2006 14:05

the triangle is an old building that is full of lovely shops...

\link{http://www.trianglemanchester.co.uk/whatsin/\list of shops in triangle}

It is located on exchange square which has a huge M+S, selfridges, Harvery Nicks and lots of designer shops around it..

Urbis is about 1 minute walk away have lunch downstairs it is lovely I recommend the urban family lunch we share it between all 4 of us and it is really nice... but so is the rest of the menu... Urbis itself can be a bit hit and miss but food is always fab...
